Hope's Anchor, Inc. supports family and placement stability and is committed to improving the long-term outcomes for foster and adoptive children, youth, and families in Yolo County by incorporating the five protective factors to encourage and equip Resource and Biological Families in the fight against adverse childhood experiences.  

Hope's Anchor, Inc. believes the Faith-Based and local community has a critical role in caring for vulnerable children, youth, and families.  Hope's Anchor, Inc. desires to educate and engage members of the local and faith-based community in service to these families.  

Hope's Anchor, Inc. partners, supports and collaborates with child welfare staff and its partner agencies to further support and advocate for children and families served by the juvenile dependency system.  

Five Protective Factors

  1. Hope's Anchor, Inc. builds Parental Resiliency through encouragement and education on self-care and the identification of caregiver fatigue and secondary trauma while providing post-approval and time of need training and support.

  2. Hope's Anchor, Inc. fosters Social Connections through a variety of support opportunities.

  3. Hope's Anchor, Inc. provides Concrete Support in Times of Need by providing essential supplies to families.

  4. Hope's Anchor, Inc. encourages Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development by educating families on children's developmental ages and stages as well as age-appropriate expectations and therapeutic parenting techniques for children and youth who have experienced trauma and/or abuse or neglect.  

  5. Hope's Anchor, Inc. supports the Social and Emotional Competence of Children through close collaboration with area agencies.
